The Quiz Night is held twice a month on Mondays from 7pm – 9pm with the next sessions taking place on 19 August, 9 September, 23 September, 14 October, 28 October, 11 November, 25 November.

Bring along your knitting to our friendly weekly knitting club where you can make new friends, enjoy conversation and learn more about knitting or share your knitting skills with others. Everyone is welcome – bring your knitting or just come along for the company, cup of tea and a natter.

Sessions are held every Tuesday at Whitburn Library 7.15 – 8.45pm.

Monthly reading group open to all with opportunity to connect and share discussions themed around a different book each month. Books for the club are provided by the library.

Most people know of the famous sisters Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë, but this talk by Stephanie Yearnshire (MBE) encompasses all eight members of Patrick Brontë‘s family.
7 October – Tony Taylor ‘Greggs’
Come and hear about Greggs growth journey past and future, and their commitment to doing good along the way. The talk will be delivered by Tony Taylor - Greggs I.T. and Business Change Director, and Trustee of the Greggs Foundation.
Opportunity to meet councillors representing the Whitburn and Marsden wards on South Tyneside Council. The Ward Surgery runs from 3.30 – 4.30pm.

If you write or would like to try your hand at writing short stories, poems, or something more ambitious, then you are welcome to come along to our small, friendly, informal meetings where you will receive feedback, support and encouragement. The group meets on Mondays from 6.30 – 8.30pm approximately every four weeks. This is an external event that is not organised by the library. Informal café for those living with dementia and their carers. An opportunity to get out and meet others for support. Enjoy tea, coffee, and cakes along with live music and singalong. Carers are welcome on their own. The Memory Café is held every third Friday of the month, 2– 4pm.
